Prohibited Items Policy

1. Absolutely prohibited

• illegal, stolen, fraudulently obtained or counterfeit goods;
• firearms, ammunition, explosives, realistic imitation firearms, prohibited weapons and components intended to create or convert weapons;
• illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug-production equipment and items promoted for unlawful drug use;
• prescription-only medicines, unlicensed medicines, unsafe medical products and human body parts or bodily materials;
• tobacco, nicotine products, vapes, cannabis/CBD products and alcohol;
• pornography, sexual services, sexual content involving minors, intimate images shared without consent and obscene illegal material;
• animals, live wildlife, protected species, ivory and other regulated wildlife products;
• hazardous chemicals, poisons, pesticides requiring authorisation, radioactive material, asbestos and dangerous biological material;
• recalled, unsafe, non-compliant or dangerously modified consumer products;
• stolen personal data, account credentials, financial information, SIM cards used for fraud, hacking tools and malware;
• fake identity documents, official badges, vehicle documents, tickets or certificates;
• terrorist or extremist material, hate material, or items whose sale is unlawful;
• lottery entries, gambling services, financial products, cryptocurrency schemes, loans and money-transfer services;
• items or services facilitating self-harm, violence, abuse, exploitation or unlawful surveillance.

2. Not accepted on this local marketplace

To keep moderation simple and reduce risk, the Service also does not currently accept:

• vehicles, vehicle finance or vehicle registration documents;
• property, tenancies or accommodation;
• jobs, paid services or business opportunities;
• event tickets, gift cards, vouchers or digital codes;
• food, drink, supplements or cosmetics;
• child car seats, motorcycle helmets, climbing safety equipment and other used safety-critical protective equipment;
• baby formula, breast pumps or intimate hygiene products;
• live plants regulated for pests or disease;
• digital-only goods, software licences, streaming accounts or social-media accounts;
• donation appeals or fundraising listings outside the Service’s own clearly identified donation function.

3. Restricted products

We may reject age-restricted, regulated, electrical, battery-powered, children’s or safety-related products unless the seller can show that the sale is lawful and the item is safe, correctly labelled and not recalled. We may impose stricter rules than the law requires.

4. Product safety

Sellers must check recalls and safety notices and must not list an item they know, or should know, is unsafe. Removing labels, serial numbers, warnings or compliance markings is prohibited. Electrical items should include material safety information and must not be described as safe merely because they power on.

5. Uncertainty

If you are unsure whether an item is legal or permitted, do not list it. Contact the operator before submission. The absence of an item from this list does not mean it is allowed.
